Rauma Garn wanted a digital presence that truly served their customers. Putting knitters first, they've launched a new website in partnership with TRY eCommerce (formerly Frend eCommerce), with design by Bielke&Yang.

The Rauma Group has several brands beyond Rauma Garn. They wanted a unified technology platform and consistent design across all their online shops to create a group-level centre of excellence.
Guro Ringen, eCommerce Manager at Rauma Ullvarefabrikk, explains the choice of technology partner:

Rauma Garn has an extensive range of yarns and digital patterns. The challenge was uniting these elements into a seamless customer experience.
As knitting has grown in popularity, knitters have become increasingly knowledgeable. This meant presenting all essential information clearly whilst maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the yarn quality and finished garments.
The process has been both exciting and challenging, according to Dennis at TRY eCommerce. Despite the complexity, this is exactly what delights the client most:
"What I'm most pleased with is how user-focused the new site is. We've constantly asked: what does a knitter need right now, and what are they trying to achieve? It should be easy to buy yarn and equally easy to find the information you need," says Guro.
"Working with such talented people has been incredibly valuable. I've grown both as an eCommerce Manager and project manager through being part of such a well-run project."

Rauma Garn is part of the family business Rauma Ullvarefabrikk, established in 1927 at Veblungsnes in Romsdalen. They are among Norway's largest yarn producers, making yarn from 100% Norwegian wool. Rauma focuses on local and sustainable production, whilst preserving knitting traditions and history. As one of few wool factories in Norway, they deliver high-quality yarn to over 300 yarn shops – domestically and abroad.
