More than ever, we need optimists. That's why we created HALVFULLT – a new IKEA glass designed to remind us all to see challenges in the right light.

Challenge

IKEA wanted to share its ambitious goal with Norway: to become 100% circular and climate-positive by 2030. However, for most people, it’s not easy to have an optimistic view of the future when the news constantly reminds us of how dire the state of the planet is. Instead of just talking about how great IKEA’s future would look, we chose to focus on something we all need more than ever: optimism.

Solution


We created HALVFULLT – a new glass that serves as a reminder to see challenges in the right light, whether you're a broke student, a stepdad, a prime minister, or a 77-year-old furniture maker.

HALVFULLT became the centerpiece of a large integrated campaign where we could address everything from the small daily challenges to the larger issues facing the world.

In addition to the glass itself, the campaign included TV commercials, print ads, in-store displays, direct mail, and social media content.
