Challenge

Family life often doesn't unfold as imagined, and many families face difficulties, conflicts, or crises. In Norway, there is a unique service available to help families through such challenges, but many people are unaware that they can receive free counseling and support from family services. Bufetat wanted to raise awareness about the availability of these services and inform the public about when and how they can get help.

Solution

To increase awareness, TRY and Bufetat turned to audio as a format. The result was the podcast “Hvordan går det hjemme?” (“How’s it Going at Home?”). Each episode offered listeners a glimpse into a typical issue that couples and families bring to family counseling centers, with advice and tips from professional family therapists. The podcast experimented with various storytelling approaches, including original short stories.

Through the podcast, many common challenges faced by families and couples were made accessible to the public, offering both recognition and support. The aim was to normalize seeking help and to inform listeners that this free service is available whenever needed. Many psychologists and therapists also had the opportunity to showcase their daily work, which helped engage people within the organization as well.

Results

The podcast received over 28,500 listens, with more than 500 unique listeners per week and an impressive 60% completion rate for episodes.
