Design Visual identity Animation Illustration

Kolumbus, Rogaland's largest mobility and public transport provider, aims to make the region a better place to live by encouraging people to occasionally leave their cars at home.

Utfordring

Kolumbus encountered challenges with their communications work, particularly in digital channels and on social media, where they lacked consistent visual tools.

This limitation led to ad-hoc illustrations and elements for individual campaigns, resulting in a fragmented brand identity.

Though their design manual covered informative aspects, it lacked a system for inspiring and cohesive visuals.

Kolumbus needed clear guidelines, along with a framework and system for design elements, color schemes, and layouts specifically tailored for digital use.

Solution


To address this, we developed a unified design concept based on Kolumbus' message, "Join the journey," capturing their playful and approachable personality in the concept of “Travel Joy.”

Inspired by travel traditions—like suitcase stickers and passport stamps—this concept became a unifying visual thread across illustrations, text posters, layout, and animation principles.

 

Results


The result is a richer identity with enhanced brand elements and a cohesive look across all channels. Kolumbus also gained a robust motion template system for social media, allowing their marketing team to manage and produce content more effectively.
